Playground borders made from wood are commonly used, but after several years of exposure to the elements, they can rot and splinter. Our rubber covering protects wooden borders' top surface with a rubber layer 5/8" thick. The covering also prevents playground users from getting splinters. Finally, the covering also prevents users from touching the top surface of the timbers, which are treated with preservative chemicals.
The rubber covering secures to the wooden playground borders using screws, not glue.
